THE BRAVEST BOY EVER!!!!!!!!

Jimmy has been getting bloody noses for about a month or so. At first they came once a week , but this past weekend he got two a day and a couple of them were pretty bad. So, at his appointment today his doctor decided he would have to go to an ENT and have his nose cauterized and in case that wasn't going to be fun enough, he also had to have blood work done.

Two weeks ago, we went to see the doctor because Jimmy kept telling me his ears hurt. I had to hold him down as the Dr. was cleaning the ick out and I got kicked in the face. So, I could hardly wait until the blood draw. Dr Eweles sent me to a great lab -- he had just taken his twin grandkids there and said they were very kid friendly and gentle. The only problem was that the lab was clear across town - which was kinda ok since I had to figure out my game plan still.

The lab staff was awesome!!! I was so glad I drove out there. I had to hold Jimmy on my lap with a death grip and was preparing myself for some kind on injury on my part. The needle went in and he didn't move or even cry. I was soo proud of him and crowned him King of The Day.

DINNER IS SERVED!!!!

Dinner in the Thornton household is never fun. I do not enjoy cooking and my kids do not enjoy eating. Neither one of them like much meat and only like a handful of vegetables, so most nights they eat some sort of pasta, fruit or vegetable and the required one bite of meat.
Tonight Jenna thought it might be easier if she didn't have to look at the food that was going into her mouth. Choosing to pick my battles, I thought there was no harm in that request and let her get her eye mask. All of the "nasty" food I had made for dinner made it into her mouth and I did not hear any gagging noises. Dinner was somewhat free from whining and bartering tonight. From now on, Helen Keller will be at my dinner table each night.
Jimmy however, did not fall for this trick. Since Jenna was not complaining Jimmy thought he would get into this action too. Going for the gold, I stuck a piece of meatball (again nasty food) into his mouth which you would have thought was a bull testicle by the gagging, crying and the jaw which would not close for 3 1/2 minutes (yes, I did time it). He did swallow it eventually and will not be playing that game tomorrow.

Real Men wear fuzzy socks...right ????

My little Jimmy has a fashion sense all his own. Mostly he just likes to wear his underwear only around the house- it must be a boy thing. That is how he is most comfortable besides lounging in pajama's all day. Today must have been a special day because he decided to add a two new accessories to his normal ensamble..one purple slipper sock and one kitty cat slipper sock-both found in Jen's drawer. When added to a pair of football underwear, it becomes a great manly look. These are the kinds of pictures that will be saved for his future wife one day.

BUBBA IS 3 !!!!!!!!

Opening his gift from Jenevive - his first action figure - welcome to the world of boys.

His new big boy bike was a gift from mom and dad.

Such a big boy already. I cry every time my children are sung to on their birthday-does anyone else do that????

Happy Birthday Jimmy!!!!! Jimmy turned 3 on Monday and we celebrated with a party at Pump-it-Up. For those of you who do not know what that is-consider yourself lucky. It is a "bouncing, sliding, ecstatic extravaganza" party as they call it. It is a party place with huge inflatables, loud music blaring and even louder kid's (18 of them ) screaming - I call it insane. Jen had her birthday there in August and since then, Jimmy has been talking about his party being there also.
So for almost 10 months we have been building up a big baseball themed party for him. Loving anything with a ball, he jumped on board. We bought all baseball paper products, baseball goodie bag stuff and Jim made baseball invitations. Everything was going good until we went to Sams to order the cake. As we were looking through the sample book, there it was...a Spiderman cake! He then wanted nothing to do with the baseball cake all he saw was the bright blue and blood red frosting and his hero Spiderman perched on a cake. It took a little while to talk him out of it, but the baseball cake was ordered with his picture on it and cupcakes with baseball rings in them, and a promise was made to have a Spiderman cake next year.
And most of his gifts had his new buddie's face plastered all over them. He got a bike, two scooters, an outfit, PJ's, swimimg suit, swim goggles, actions figures, underwear and a new backpack for school in the fall - all bright blue and blood red and you quessed it -Spiderman on it all. He had a great time and kept telling me all night 'Thank You Mama' -that makes all of the noise and hassle worth it. Happy Birthday my little Jim Bobby!!!! We Love You!!
