BUILD-A-BEAR WORKSHOP

Grandma Chance told Jen she would take her anywhere she wanted to pick out a present. Jenna wanted to go to the Build-A-Bear Workshop store and pick out a new best friend. At BAB they have tons of unstuffed animals to choose from. After much deliberation, Jen finally settled on a black dog. After you choose an animal, you take it to the stuffing station.
Then, you get a heart, rub it between your hands to warm it up...

and you place it on your forehead and make a wish. It then goes into his chest and..

they sew it up.
You then take it over to the cleaning station and give it a "bath". After the bath, you get to choose a name and have a birth certificate made up for your new friend. They also have a ton of outfits and accessories to choose from.

Jen had one fashion forward dog complete with leopard print top and denim skirt , leopard print shoes, purse some glasses and hot pink bows. Jen and Grandma then went to Red Robbins for lunch.

The waitresses gave her a hot fudge sundae and sang Happy Birthday to her. She had such a great time and has told everyone that would listen about the whole experience.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENEVIVE!!!!

I can't believe I have a six year old already! Time has flown by so fast. Every year I take a "first picture" of the being another year older. Jimmy and I had to wake Jen up this morning by singing Happy Birthday to her.
Jen got to pick out where she wanted to eat and she picked Rain Forest Cafe. We picked up her BFF ( best friends forever) Morgan to come celebrate and spend the night. The kids loved all of the animals and Jen was so excited to spend her birthday there.
Morgan had bought Jen a matching outfit for her birthday and they loved looking alike all night long. Morgan's birthday was 2 days before Jen's and was also born at the same hospital, so I'm sure the girls spent some time in the nursery together at some point.
After Dinner, we ordered an ice cream , brownie and hot fudge volcano with a sparkler on the top. The was the best part of the whole dinner according to Jen. The 5 of us ate a pretty good portion of the thing.

Since Jim had to work today Jen had to wait until we got home to open her presents. All day she was asking and at one point asked if could just take a picture of her opening them and show them to Jim later. I thought that was pretty smart idea on her part.

One of her gifts were "Twinkle Toes" tennis shoes that she had been wanting. They are denim shoes with designs on the sides and sequins on the toes. She was very surprised to get them. She had a great birthday and hopefully she will have a great time at her party on Saturday with the rest of her family and friends.

It's not my party and I'll cry if I want to!!!!!

Jimmy didn't like the fact that Jenna got presents and he didn't. He was not happy at all to hand over his gift that he got for her. He did however LOVE the Polly Pocket doll set that she got and managed to break it in a matter of seconds and then get upset some more about that. So, in true Jimmy form, he has cried and cried until the snot dripped down his face and then cried some more.

THE TOOTH FAIRY IS GOING BROKE!!!!

Jen has lost another tooth today making it #3. For the first tooth, Jen got $5.00 and glitter on the windowsill. Since then she has reminded me each time that the tooth fairy will be leaving her $5.00 and glitter, and I keep telling her that I think it only happens on the first tooth. She gets a disappointed look on her face and I can't stand it. So, tonight I will be pulling out the glitter and $$$ AGAIN. I am beginning to think she loosens them up when she sees something she likes at a store.

MY DAUGHTER --THE HUMAN PRETZEL

Since our home is like a circus on most days, it's a good thing Jenna has her side show ready to go. Jen may look like she made only of skin and bones , but I think she's made with elastic. She can twist and turn any which way she wants and it doesn't seem to bother her....it does hurt my eyes at times though.
This trick she learned last year in dance class. Her dance teacher asked the kids if they could do this, and Jenna snapped her head back to touch her toes in seconds. We were a little surprised.
She's been working on her splits for a while now- she's almost got it!!!! Her legs look like could snap off at any moment.

And this is how she watches TV. She can't sit on the couch or floor like a regular kid, she has to contort herself . She will sit like this for a half an hour show. I wonder how much those Circus De Soleil kids make ? Hmmmm.

FUN IN THE SUN TUESDAY

A last minute decision landed us at Spencer Beach for some fun in the sun. We packed everything into the van along with 4 kids and headed out. They all had a blast in the sand with the sand toys and even the small ones were brave enough to go into the water up to their chin. They had such a great time and can't wait to go back again.

So I'm just sitting here waiting for Child Protective Services to come to my home for a visit. Jen got a set of fake nails as a prize from our family reunion this week and I just put them on for her. Never in a million years would I have thought I would be the kind of mom that would put them on a 5 (almost 6) year old. I will just say that it was a package designed for kids. It's funny how 10 little plastic nails will brighten a kids face and make her feel so special! Next week - a fake belly button ring and highlights - just kidding!!!
