A New School Year

With a new Hello Kitty backpack, Jenevive was ready for the new school year. This year she is in second grade and has an awesome teacher-Mrs Mack. I know she will have a great year.

She was thrilled to see some of her friends again. The only down side was that the girls were split into two different classes again, so they will only see each other during recess and lunch.

Kaiden met up with us on the school yard for the first day.. He is going into first grade this year. Their classrooms are right across for each other this year and they wait together in the morning for the doors to open. The only problem is that Jenna has graduated to the "Big Kid's" playground and Kaiden still has to stay at the littler one. They did make arrangements to meet in the middle at the wood chips during recess. They are too funny! They act like an old married couple some times.

Jenna and her BFF Angel. They are still in the same class this year, so that made Jen very happy.

The next day Jimmy started 4 year old preschool in his new school. He has Mrs Faller and Mrs Adrianne and his best friend Christian is in his class again this year. Due to budget cuts, they closed his old school and moved his class into another elementary. Of course it couldn't have been at Jenna's school- that would have been too easy. The school year has only just started and I'm already looking forward to next year when they will go together in one school and Jimmy will be in all day Kindergarten.

A Day In The Life Of A Flower Girl

If you ask Jenna, she has been waiting her whole life to be a flower girl- all 7 years and 9 days! Sorry for the picture overload, but it was hard to only choose a few . My Step dad was getting remarried and when she found out that she was going to be in the wedding, she was over the moon. The dresses were perfect- everything that a little flower girl dress should be.
The night before, we went to Grandma Sue's sister's house to have rods set in her hair. I thought we were going to be up all night with them, but she was a trooper. When the rods were taken out the next morning, I was a Little worried. She looked like Shirley Temple.

But it all worked out in the end. Her hair stayed curled the entire night, even with all of the dancing she did. I was impressed.

Grandma Sue with her two flower girls. Her niece Emily was the other flower girl standing up. Jen and Emily have become very close over the years and loved doing this together.

And this was the biggest deal of the day. Besides waiting her whole life to be a flower girl, she also has been waiting to ride in a limo. She loved every minute and didn't want to get out.

We had a little time before the ceremony, so we had to take a million pictures.

I LOVE this picture. It shows all of the detail in the back of the dress, and they look sweet and innocent- looks can be deceiving. These two girls can be double trouble sometimes.

Jenevive did such a great job walking down the huge staircase and held her smile the whole time. It was very hard not to cry watching her.

Jenna and her Papa Mike. She does adore him, and he treats her like a princess.

The newlyweds. Mr & Mrs Malley.

This kids made their grand entrance with sunglasses on and fist pumping to the music. They defiantly stole the show. Jen had a blast and we pretty much let her have free reign. She must have made 6 trips to the bar for Shirley Temples and she was defiantly the dancing queen of the night. I don't think she even sat out a dance, she even tried to learn the hussel. It was fun to watch her just enjoy the night. Jen danced with anyone who was available:

Daddy stole a dance with his girl.

She got Uncle Scott out on the floor several times. She kept doing the dirty dancing move- running into his arms and he lifted her up in the air. I think Uncle Scott slept just as good as Jen did that night.

Papa Mike even danced with the girls.

Jen fought us about leaving the reception. She passed out within only a few minutes of getting in the car. I don't think she will ever forget this night and if any one needs a flower girl, just call.
