Jen's First Halloween Party

After too many choices in the store, Jen finally decided on being Dorothy for Halloween. I did my best to sway her toward it knowing she would look too cute in the costume. I was right !!!!!! During her first bargaining negotiation, she said she would only do it if she could have a real dog in the basket ---SHOT DOWN!!!! I told her she could use a stuffed animal-she was less than thrilled with that idea. Then I pulled out the big guns. I told her I would buy her beautiful red glitter shoes. Now, don't think she didn't immediately see that Dorothy was wearing high heeled shoes and she was not. After trying to explain to her that they do not make high-heeled shoes for 6 year olds, she agreed. Because it was chilly out, I had her put on some nylons on and she was so excited to tell me she looked like she had been sprayed tanned. It is truly the small things in life that make her the happiest.
One of her friends at school was having a Halloween party at her house. The VERY brave mom had 1st and 2nd graders to her house with almost the entire guest list showing up. They had close to 40 kids there!!!. The entire house was decorated from floor to ceiling. They had tons of games set up for the kids like musical tombstones, bobbing for apples, mummy wrap and digging for body parts.
Jen had to dig through a box of brains (overcooked noodles and water) looking for body parts and bugs. At first she didn't want to do it, but she tried it anyway. She had such a great time and it was fun watching all of the kids interact with each other out of school. I got a glimpse of her "school Personalty" and was a little surprised to see how she is with her friends.
I had to save the best for last. My poor Jim-Bobby is going to be soo embarrassed at his wedding when I show my collection of photo's. It is entirely his fault - giving my all of the ammo himself. My cute little adorable boy dancing around in his underwear with his sister glitter shoes. We are beginning to wonder about the boy. Is he a future "Judy Garland" fan??????
